The newest Gannon

Yes we are crazy. We have adopted a smelly Yorkie mix with ticks and worms from the "pound." But isn't she cute?
Here is a look at her 'after' picture.

Our little Kindergartener

We are now living with a Kindergartener. So far, so good. Lily really seems to be enjoying her school and her teacher, Mrs. McCormick. Lily as made four friends in class. Here are some pictures from her first day. She started off a little nervous, but fit right in. The one picture I did not get was her baby sister latched onto Lily's backpack saying that Lily was not going to go.

Just hanging out at home

Since we have not been good about updating pictures on this blog, I thought I would add some more recent ones.

We are back from vacation

We spent a week in Tennessee visiting Joe's family and we made a day trip to Alabama to see members of my father's family. Joe and I also were able to attend his 20 year high school reunion. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Lily, Rachel, Johnny and Elise

The girls had a great time getting to visit with their family. It is fun to see how much they idolize their cousins. None of us are use to the humidity. At one point Lily said it was too wet and buggy. It was their grandfather's 71st birthday so they had fun at his party. Here are some more pictures from our visit. My father-in-law is doing battle with a deer right now. The deer is eating all the tomatos out of his garden as soon as they turn red. Then we pulled up to the house from the airport there it was just hanging out in the garden.

Elise and Lily hanging out in the hall

Elise in a dress-up outfit she got for her birthday.

Lily watering the ponderosa pine that she planted with her sister and dad. It did not survive.

Happy July. It has been a long time since we posted anything so I thought I would share some pictures. We don't have a good excuse for not posting.

Let's see what is going on. The girls are very excited about an upcoming visit with their grandma and grandpa. They don't get to see them very often and it is a special treat.

They are growing up so quickly. Lily is about to start kindergarten. Almost everyday she comes home from Pre-K with books she has written. She has nice handwriting, something I lack. She spells things out phonetically and you can understand what she is writing. She came home today with "The Rokit Book" She had drawn a really good rocket on it.

Elise just got here first haircut. She still has the curls.

My granny's quilt

When my grandmother passed away in October, I was given all of her belongings. They included 20 interesting quilt squares from a quilt she never finished. The circular flower design was made of double knit. It looked like the fabric was from the early 70s. To be honest, some to the people that saw the squares thought they were ugly.

But I have a friend at work who quilts and she was up to the challenge of turning the 20 squares into 2 quilts for the girls and two pillows.

She is doing the same design but a different color pallet for both. Lily's is orange and Elise's will be purple. She has pieced together most of Lily's. She started with that one because Elise's will be more color coordinated. Lily's might not be as 'pretty' just based on the colors in the squares.

But I think Lily's is looking great! I am so impressed with her work.

Look what the 'baby' can do

Okay, Joe can tell you I was worse than a kid at Christmas about this new computer. I was so excited about it. We hooked it up last night. Joe was able to get the internet working. I was able to import a few thousand pictures we had on disk. I have only spent a few hours playing around and look what I am already able to do.

Our New Baby

Well, we are getting a new baby. It is a twenty-inch iMac Core Duo. I am very excited about this new computer. The last computer I bought was my Mac Color Classic. That would have been sometime in the early 90s. Joe’s Dell is a little younger, but still about 10 years old. This is the first computer we have purchased as a couple. We have bought a home and two cars, but this is the first computer that is ours together.

We ordered it about a week ago, and we just got word that it is on the move from China.

Okay, can you tell I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas? I just want Santa to get here!
